Chloe - Our Ragdoll & The Most Wonderful Friend

(August 28, 2003 - March 05, 2010)

Chloe in 2008

I'm so sad to announce that my sweet Chloe has passed away on March 05, 2010.  Chloe was the most wonderful friend a girl could ever have and I miss her so much, as well as the rest of my family.  She came to us several years ago when she was rescued from a cattery who mistreated their cats.  I was told of how Chloe was kept in a very small cage, her bad condition, but also how sweet she was.  My heart broke, so I just had to try to help.  When I first saw her in the carrier she was in, she was very shy and was hunched in the corner.  I reached in and petted her head to let her know everything would be okay.  I think she understood because she immediately stood up and wanted to come to me, she had a very happy glimmer in her eyes.  I took Chloe to the vet soon after, the only problems she had were extremely matted fur, both of her eyes had severe infections, and she was underweight - all of which could be fixed.  Her safe haven for the next several weeks was underneath my bed, but giving her lots of love and attention helped her Ragdoll personality to shine and becoming very trusting.  She played with our kitty toys like she's never played before.  We also gave her a new name for her new life with us.  I'm sure that those who have met Chloe would've never guessed this about her background, especially since she loved greeting people and rolling on her back so you could rub her.  She barely left my side and would always make me smile... we became the best of friends.  I will miss her pawing at me so I could pet her.  It angers me that someone could mistreat such a sweet girl... they have no idea on what they missed out on.  Chloe also gave us the prettiest kittens and was a wonderful mother and friend to all my other cats and kittens... she would never hurt a fly.  Unfortunately, she had complications from giving birth to her last litter and was taken to our emergency vet.  In short, everyone did all they knew possible to save Chloe, but it was all too much for her body to handle, so she ended up passing away.  What really hurts is that I planned on getting Chloe spayed after her last litter (I've even told some people this), and letting her retire and spend the rest of her life with us.  I so wished that I did that sooner because my Chloe would still be here today.  But, I'm glad to have spent the time I had with her and that she left this world knowing that she was very loved.

Chloe, you were a dear friend and I miss you already very much.  I'm so happy to have Dakota and Shelby as reminders of how sweet and beautiful her mother is.  You were truly a special kitty and I will never forget you and the memories we shared.  Our time together was cut short, but I have peace knowing that you will continue to get much love and happiness at Rainbow Bridge.  You were such a doll and I love you very much.  Rest in peace my Chloe.

Mister Mann - Our Beloved Persian

(April 13, 1995 - November 22, 2008)

Mr. Mann in 2007

It hurts my heart to say that Mister Mann, our 13-year-old Persian, has passed away a few months after his best buddy Tidbit.  I know they are chasing squirrels together in kitty heaven right now.  Mister Mann was losing weight extremely fast, so we took him to the vet who told us that he was having kidney failure and was certainly in pain.  He gave Mister Mann only one or two more days left to live and said the pain would get worse.  So, we made the decision to end his suffering that day even though we wanted so much to not let him go.

Mister Mann, it is so hard to let you go, you were my very first kitty and you are so special to me.  It hurts so much that you're not here with us, but I know you're in a better place now where you will have no more pain.  You will always be in my heart and I will never, ever forget you.  Thank you for all the wonderful memories and years you gave me... we will be together again at the Rainbow Bridge someday.  Enjoy chasing squirrels and butterflies with Tidbit, my sweetheart... I love you.

Tidbit - Our Other Beloved Persian

(May 23, 1998 - July 23, 2008)

Tidbit in 2007

Tidbit was a very special kitty to all of us and will always be cherished.  He was our 10-year-old Persian who lived a long and happy life until he had a stroke and went to the Rainbow Bridge on July 23, 2008.  He was also diagnosed with cancer in the same week.  Our vet said he could try to save him from the stroke, but gave him a less than 5% chance of living and having a normal life.  So, no matter how much we wanted to be selfish and keep him here with us, we decided it was best to have our Tidbit put to sleep.  The vet said the stroke was probably God's way of protecting him from suffering through the cancer he would've succumbed to.  This had to be the worst week ever...

I love you, Tidbit, you will always be in our hearts.  I will miss all your loving and silly little ways, crawling under the blanket with me while I'm sleeping, and most of all... kissing your cute little face.  When you left me, you took a piece of my heart with you.  Someday we will cross the Rainbow Bridge together and I'll be able to hold you again.  Until then, you will be forever missed, rest in peace my baby.  Don't forget your mommy loves you so very much.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.  When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
